Tampa Bay organic farmers on the cover of Grand magazine

There aren’t many organic farms in Tampa Bay. There are, count’em, two. And on overcrowded Pinellas County, there’s only room for one: Gateway Organic Farm.hank-and-pam-on-the-mag Last week, I posted about the dinner at the farm that we did with other local chefs. It was a lot of fun. Chefs Tyson Grant of Parkshore Grill, Matt Tracy of St Pete Yacht Club, Chris Knowles of Sea Sea Riders, Peter Leonavicius of Toasted Pheasant, Cathleen Ryan of Pastry Girl Baking, Tom Kern of the Vinoy and myself had great interactions.

My son Julian, who’s only 5 years-old, also participated in the dinner. He basically followed me and the chefs around, experimented with his own concoctions (fennel, rosemary, sage and mint), and helped us plate for 90.

But the purpose of this post is to let you know that there are fantastic people at Gateway Organic Farm. The farmers, Hank and Pam, made the cover of Grand magazine. Look at this cover page and their smiley, healthy faces.

The dinner in the garden was a fundraiser for the farm. Hank and Pam are planning to open an “Edu-Kitchen” with fork to farm programs, to teach Tampa Bay kids the value of cooking homegrown vegetables.

They need all the help they can get, so please feel free to contact them at Gateway Organic Farm.

  1. detoxdietlady says:

every food that we eat should come from Organic Farming. i really get scared about those toxins coming from chemical fertilizers and chemical pesticides. I only eat foods which are certified that they are organically grown

  2. it is still better to adhere on organic farming because the fruits and vegetables does not contain those harmful chemicals.~-.

  3. organic farms will be the trend of the future coz we don’t like artificial stuffs inside our body.-,
