Dinner in the garden

“>Ah, cooking at the farm! I will be cooking this Sunday for a dinner in the garden and this is your invitation.

Plus, frankly, this is no ordinary dinner. You don’t want to miss this. 6 local chefs came together with the ONLY organic farm in Pinellas county (Florida) to plan a dinner in the garden. I mean it. The table is literally set among the organic lettuces, herbs, tomatoes and strawberries. The farmers, Hank and Pam will be there also, of course, to give you a chance to interact with them. They are wonderful people. The chefs (Tyson Grant of Parkshore Grill, Matt Tracy of St Pete Yacht Club, Chris Knowles of Sea Sea Riders, Peter Leonavicius of Toasted Pheasant, Cathleen Ryan of Pastry Girl Baking and Consulting and myself) will also be dining and interacting with you.
The dinner is based on the concept of Outstanding in the Field. Jim Denevan, the creator of this valuable concept has a book out. Check it out here: Outstanding in the Field: A Farm to Table Cookbook

This is a NOT-TO-BE-MISSED casual dinner for anyone interested in good food, especially authentic, local, organic products. In addition, we all owe it to ourselves to support “farm to fork” projects like these in Tampa Bay, especially in a tough economy. All proceeds will benefit the Edu-Kitchen, which teaches kids about organic dining.

  1. Tomatoes are always present as garden vegetables because they are easy to grow…;

    Thanks very much for that! My father recently harvested a garden full of tomatoes , and I found myself the owner of two or three buckets worth! Of course I couldnt eat them all, but I did find a website full of tons more tomato recipes there. A whole website dedicated the topic!! Crazy what you can find on the internets these days!!
